Condition Details / Information Notes
Insufficient justification has been provided for the reduction of the trees size in it's entirety.
No structural defects have been identified that would justify the crown reduction of the whole tree.
Although it is recognised the tree overhangs the property and is situated on a raised bank, the issues of encroachment could more suitable be addressed with some targeted end weight reductions of branches nearest the house.
Unnecessary tree works should be avoided to prevent the ingress of harmful wind borne pathogens and the activation of harmful latent fungi within the tree.
Walnut trees do not typically respond well to crown reductions and so they should be avoided where possible. If there are structural concerns with the tree, these should be identified and presented in a tree report with the next application for tree works.
