Condition Details / Information Notes
Insufficient justification has been provided for the felling of the Pine tree. The Spruce tree featuring in this application is not protected by this Area Tree Preservation Order but instead by the Beckford Conservation Area. Due to the complexity of legal restrictions on these trees, this was missed in the application validation. The applicant has been made aware of this factor and understands the need to submit a separate Conservation Area Notification regarding the Spruce.
During the Tree Officer's site visit, no structural or pathogenic issue was evident that would justify the tree's felling.
The applicant stated concerns regarding the tree's canopy sway in high winds. This is a species characteristic of Pine trees and not a valid reason to justify felling at this time.
The Pine tree adds to the diverse collection of trees in the applicants garden. The tree provides habitation opportunity and contributes to the legacy of this amenity planting, it's loss would be detrimental to these factors.
