The application site lies beyond a defined development boundary and in an area of open countryside, and is located within the Green Belt, where in accordance with policy SWDP 2 of the South Worcestershire Development Plan new development will be strictly controlled and limited to specific exceptions permitted by other SWDP policies. It has not been sufficiently demonstrated that there is a functional need for a dwelling on the site. The proposal would result in inappropriate residential development being provided in the open countryside contrary to Policies SWDP2, SWDP19 and Annex G of the South Worcestershire Development Plan, as well as guidance contained in the NPPF |
The site is located within the Green Belt where the introduction of a new dwelling would be inappropriate development and would be detrimental to the openness of the Green Belt and harmful to the character and appearance of the rural landscape, contrary to Policies SWDP 2, SWDP25 and the guidance contained in the NPPF. |
